A SPRAVATO® or IV ketamine visit generally follows a planned sequence: check in, meet with the clinical team, receive clinician-directed care, remain for monitoring, and leave after the discharge process is complete. Your clinic will provide instructions for your own appointment. Understanding the basic visit flow can help you plan transportation, work, family responsibilities, and the time you need that day.
SPRAVATO® is administered in a certified setting under its restricted distribution program. Public labeling and REMS materials describe in-clinic administration and monitoring requirements. IV ketamine visits are also clinician supervised, although the precise schedule and steps follow the practice process and the individual instructions provided by the treating team. The treating clinician directs care and determines the visit plan.
Check-in is the arrival and registration stage. Monitoring is the observation period after clinician-directed care, when staff follow the assigned visit process, document required observations, and communicate with the supervising clinician as needed. Discharge is the visit-closeout stage, when the team completes its process and reviews the practical instructions that apply after you leave.
Before your appointment, ask how long to reserve, what to bring, and whether a driver or companion is requested. Ask whether that person should arrive with you or return later, where they may wait, and what time they should plan for pickup. Avoid relying on another person's treatment-day schedule; visit instructions can differ, and the clinic's directions for your appointment are the ones to follow.
Staff may help explain the logistics, prepare the room, record observations, and support the visit flow under clinician oversight. They do not make treatment decisions or interpret your individual care needs.
